Happy 4th of July! I hope the baseball was to your liking! And how could it not be? Road series wins against one of the best teams in the league, with huge contributions from Heliot Ramos, Logan Webb, Hayden Birdsong, Camilo Doval, and Tyler Rogers and Ryan Walker? It’s a thing of beauty! The player development road is often long and uneven and rocky, with far too many switchbacks and detours, but we’re starting to see a real groundswell of success as this 2024 Giants team is being driven by more internally developed players than any we’ve seen in at least a decade….and maybe much more! Good times to be a follower of the farm! Which means it’s a good time to be reading your There R Giants posts!
I mentioned yesterday that Christian Koss had received a well-deserved promotion back up to Triple-A — Koss actually made his Sacramento debut on Wednesday. It turns out that Koss’s move up was only part of a shortstop migration announced on Wednesday night. Cole Foster moved up to Eugene, and, with Maui Ahuna not yet taking reps on the defensive side of things, that made an opportunity for Ramon Peralta to come up to San Jose and slide into Foster’s place. Congratulations to all on the new challenges to take on!

It was a night of tight endings, as three of the games on the farm were decided by one run, and four games saw the winning run score in the 8th inning or later. Not many of those resulted in Ws for the good guys, but the overall quality of play was certainly strong. Let’s head to the Lines…
