Now through December 24, I’m running a Christmas special for 20% off an annual subscription to There R Giants. Enjoy it for yourself or give as a gift!
So far in this year’s Depth Charts series, we’ve covered:
When I originally started working on the CF depth chart, the top spot was filled by the ol’ “Mystery Man” as we waited for Farhan Zaidi to fulfill his stated desire to upgrade the team at this crucial position. I suppose, as mysteries go, this one didn’t quite require the services of a Sherlock Holmes to crack. Alex Pavlovic correctly predicted that answer on There R Giants podcast way back in October, and just yesterday we heard Dave Flemming discuss the Giants’ long pursuit of (and enthrallment with) our newest Giant.
But now that we’ve actually filled in the blank all official like, let’s take advantage of this spot in the Depth Chart series to get to know Jung-Hoo Lee a little bit better.
If you know your Korean, then you understand that the young lady at the beginning of that clip is holding up a sign that says, “Jung Hoo Lee, hit the ball up here” just prior to Lee, in fact, hitting the ball up there! Much as my Mom famously (in my family, at least) did with Willie McCovey in the opening game of the 1971 playoffs! Are we not charmed already?
