Albert Jimenez Blasts Off!
SF Giants Minor Lines, June 8, 2026 plus Week 11 Stats Review
I’m going to be heading out to Arizona to take in the complex team in a couple of weeks, and I’m hoping that maybe they start to get on a roll before then (and that one particular talent maybe gets himself all healthed up betwixt now and then), because right at the moment, this club isn’t providing quite the excitement I think we’d all be looking forwards to.
That’s somewhat true down in the Dominican as well — albeit without the same layer of expectations going into the year. However, there is one interesting development taking place at Felipe Alou Academia de Beisbol, as a power hitter is rising from the veteran crew! Guess who now leads the DSL in home runs? (If you’re struggling to come up with an answer — hey, check out the title of today’s post!)
HITTER of the NIGHT: Albert Jiminez (DSLGO), 3 for 4, 2 HR, 3 R, 5 RBI
PITCHER of the NIGHT: Johan Rodriguez (ACLG), 1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K
Not a standout day for the arms, but I am starting to wonder if it’s time to give the 23-year-old Johan Rodriguez a chance to help the San Jose bullpen. He throws relatively hard and he’s been quite solid in the ACL this year. Plus, in his third complex season at an advanced age for the level, it’s probably time to take the challenge now or never.
