Promotions were the big news of the day as the two best performing pitching prospects in the system each got a bump up. Early in the morning came the big bombshell:

That’s at least one “piggy back” spot open to get guys stretched out in San Jose! And it continues Black’s rise in prominence. He’s probably had the best start of any pitcher in the system whose initials aren’t KH.
Speaking of which, asked about the new addition of the organization’s top pitching prospect to his team, Richmond Manager Dennis Pelfrey said: “it’s like an adrenaline shot, or energy drink I think. It’s one of those things that really rejuvenates guys to get a guy like Harrison coming in here. I think it rejuvenates the offense a little bit too, just rejuvenates everybody and gets us straightened out for the next series.”
It’s definitely giving me a Red Bull high! Just watching the movement on Harrison’s ball when he’s warming up is a pretty incredible experience. Harrison’s Double A debut will come Friday night — and yes, I will be there!
