Just to follow up on one of my mailbag questions from yesterday — of course, the Richmond Diamond pays tribute to its alumni who have gone on to bigger things (though I must admit they’ve fallen a bit behind the last 10 months or so). Allow me to present, a quick tour of the alumni wall:
I do actually really like the way San Jose integrates their famous alumni into the stadium, but Richmond has a lot of cool history around the park, including opening day lineups from most of their seasons. Here’s a little turn back the clock — the very first lineup card in Squirrels’ history included more future big leaguers than any other in the 13 years since (eight out of nine, not bad!):
