Bryce Eldridge Heads to Richmond After Smashing Month of August
SF Giants Minor Lines, August 29 - Sept 1, 2024
Hello there! Fresh from an exhausting and highly celebratory wedding weekend, I’m ready to dive into a huge and thrilling weekend on the farm!
One thing has very definitely gone right for the Giants’ organization this year. Bryce Eldridge has emerged as a monster hitting prospect. We hoped that would be the case coming into the year, but as we’ve seen from some other big prospects over the years, well….there’s many a slip between the cup and the lip, as the saying goes, or between the hope and the season hitting line, as is the case here.
Eldridge opened the year with a very positive first half in San Jose, where he looked like an exciting 19-year-old power prospect who was among the better prospects in the game. What he’s done since being promoted to High-A, however, is putting him into a very different class. And as great as his overall performance in Eugene has been, his finishing kick at that level has been another gear entirely. Good golly this dude is on fire!
And that fire is now pushing Eldridge beyond the perimeter of the Great Northwest and back home to Virginia. Meeting the goal he set for himself this spring, the Giants informed Eldridge yesterday that he will be ending his season in Richmond — at least the regular season part of it! I still have a hunch we’ll be seeing him back in Arizona in the fall!

HITTER of the WEEKEND: Bryce Eldridge (Eug), 7 for 12, 3 HR (22), 2 2b, 7 R, 5 RBI, 3 BB
PITCHERS of the WEEKEND: The Carsons (Sac), 15.1 IP, 13 H, 3 ER, 17 K, 6 BB
In addition to Eldridge’s excitements, we also have an all time There R Giants’ fave going off in what might be his organizational swan song, one of the absolute craziest games of the year, and, on top of all that, we’ve got some champagne popping…
Good weekend!
