Day 3 of the Draft: Area Scouts Time to Shine!
It's a day of everybody's favorites -- the longshots!

Obviously, it’s pretty easy to let Day 3 of the MLB draft drift past you like smoke. It’s several hours of announcing player names you never heard of, mostly coming from colleges you’ve never heard of, conceivably located in states you’ve never heard of. What’s the chance any of these guys ever amount to anything, anyway?
And, indeed, as we discussed in the draft preview, history tells us that the very likely answer to this question is: not much.
But, let me tell you this, I don’t dedicate literally hundreds of hours of my life to parsing out the chances that 11th round pick David Villar or 36th round pick Joey Marciano might make the majors, just to blow off our ten newest recruits for being longshots!
So to help you appreciate these players’ hopes and dreams (and chances!) a little more, in today’s post I’ll include the best ever Giants’ draft pick for each round, in addition to some scouting notes for each player that I can dredge up. You may be surprised to run across some of your favorite ever Giants in this part of the draft.
