No big surprise, it was clear that the Giants didn’t feel comfortable using Beede this year in any game that wasn’t already out of hand, and the Giants are a team that needs to extract maximum value from each roster spot. Still, this is a sad moment when the org is forced to cut ties with the 2014 1st round pick, a talent that they had high hopes for many times — including as recently as two years ago. Beede has always been tremendously talented, but for one reason or another, it hasn’t quite come together yet for him. At some point, I hope it does, and I hope he finds success on a big league field for somebody at some point. As of now, it doesn’t seem like it’s going to be with the Giants.

Logan Webb is sad to see Tyler Beede go, he’s one of his best friends, officiated Webb’s wedding. He’s sure that Beede will land on his feet somewhere and do well.

Tyler Beede says there is no point in being pessimistic - whatever his next opportunity, it’s up to him to seize it. He says he feels healthier and as if he’s throwing the ball better than ever.

And, since we’re on transactions, perhaps a little housekeeping is appropriate. You may remember a few days ago, when the Giants acquired Cody Abbott (or maybe not, given the dizzying rate of acquisitions over the past couple of weeks). Well, about that….
