A lot of action under the sun yesterday, as minor league clubs are making sure to cram those last Education Day events in before school lets out for the summer! As I’ve often written, 11 am starts are very weird for the players, who are so regimented about their schedules otherwise — lifting schedules, nutrition schedules, sleep schedules all get thrown out of whack by these occasional morning starts. 7 am arrival time at the field everybody!
But a lot is at stake in these series, so the competitors had to show up and post! And, as we shall see in a moment, some did better than others at that. We’ve got some young studs who continue to produce, and a couple others whose seasons are starting to move into a level of concern. And, at the top of the ladder, a guy who is making a compelling case for the future to start now-ish. Soon-ish? How soon is now?
