Roger placed on 7-day IL (knee) (could be a 60-day stint coming)
A little personal news: last night as I moved down the concourse at the Diamond to start up my home plate camera for first pitch, I felt a couple pops in my knee. It had been bothering me for a couple of weeks, so I thought once the initial wince passed, I’d be able to carry on, if at a slight gimp. Instead, I was down for the count, and my evening was spent being almost literally carried to a nurse’s station, wheeled to a car, and sitting around in urgent care for many hours.
I only mention this because, well, today’s post maybe a little more abbreviated than normal, and also, going forward, it’s possible I’ll have some schedule disruptions, as I’d imagine this is headed to surgery once I get through various tests. I’m also very concerned that my bucket list trip to the Dominican next month could be impacted, which would be more painful than anything I’m feeling at the moment. Anyway, I’m immobile, and really can’t do much of anything else, so I might as well bang out a post for you all.
Just one word of warning: I am on a lot of pain medication currently. Any weirdness in today’s post can be ascribed to the meds. Let’s round things up.
HITTER of the NIGHT: Zander Darby (SJ), 3 for 3, 2b, BB, 1 R, 2 RBI
PITCHER of the NIGHT: Jacob Bresnahan (SJ), 5.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 6 K
Ok, I watched a lot of video while not being able to sleep last night and think I’m caught up on the evening’s events. So, let’s get to the lines and enjoy people doing things I currently can’t….like say stand or move quickly.
