Kerry raised a really good point about Greg Johnson’s seeming reluctance to spend far above the luxury tax than they already have. “When will it be the right time to spend?” The way I look at it is this: they have players such as Adames, Devers, Webb, Chapman, Bailey, etc who are among some of the best players in the league. Their window of greatness, with the exception of Bailey who is years younger than the others, is not going to be open for too long. Doesn’t it make sense to step on the gas now? Go get these guys players who can help them win pennants while their window is still open. Winning attracts fans who will spend money.
