There are “seeing eye singles” and then there’s this gorgeous piece of work from Sean Roby…

Each of the past two days, we’ve had an incoming player to report — today, it’s an outgoing one. Jaylin Davis was claimed on waivers by the Boston Red Sox and heads off to the AL East. Davis came to the Giants from the Minnesota Twins in the deal that sent Sam Dyson to Minnesota, and included RHP Kai-Wei Teng and Prelander Berroa. During the July, 2020 Summer Camp lead in to the pandemic season, Davis was the subject of a lot of buzz from the Giants new major league staff, but he ended up spending just days on the big league roster before being sent to the Alternate Site. Contact issues and a series of injuries have slowed his progress since then — particularly a cruelly-timed injury that cut short his only other opportunity with the Giants after just five games last July. Davis is a tremendous athlete with big power, but if he’s to craft himself a big league career, it will now be with some other organization. Good luck, Jaylin! Hope you get to enjoy the Monster!
