No more “Big Monday” editions of the Minor Lines. We’re down to tiny little bite-sized editions! In fact, this might be the last of these for the year. Richmond ended their regular season yesterday, and will begin their Best of Three division series on Tuesday. The full potential schedule for their playoff journey would be as follows:
Tuesday, Sept 19: Division Series Gm 1 at Richmond
Thursday, Sept. 21: Division Series Gm 2 at Erie
Friday, Sept. 22: Division Series Gm 3 (if necessary) at Erie
Sunday, Sept. 24: League Championship Series Gm 1, at NE Div winner
Tuesday, Sept. 26: League Championship Series Gm 2, at SW Div winner
Wednesday, Sept. 27: League Championship Series Gm 3 (if necessary), at SW Div winner
Sacramento’s season, meanwhile, ends next Sunday. For this week, I’ll have a Mailbag tomorrow, Minor Lines posts on Wednesday and Friday, timed to the Richmond playoff games (no post on Thursday). If there’s a decisive Game 3, I’ll put something out on Saturday as well. Should Richmond go on to the Eastern League championship series, then I’ll continue to cover their games for as long as their run goes. Regardless, I’ll start rolling out my offseason content either next Monday or Wednesday, beginning with a list of Organizational All Stars. When Richmond’s playoff run is completed, I’ll shift to my standard M-W-F posting rhythm, with podcasts sprinkled liberally around — that rhythm will begin no later than Friday, Sept. 29.
Got all that? Don’t worry, I’ll keep reminding you of what’s coming next.
Meanwhile, let’s take a look at the weekend. The games had no meaning, but some of the performances might have.
HITTER of the WEEKEND: Marco Luciano (Sac), 3 for 10, 2 HR (15), 2 RBI, 4 BB, 5 K
PITCHER of the WEEKEND: Mason Black (Sac), 5.0 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 6 K
The days are waning but they’re not all gone yet, and it’s never too late to enjoy the sight of a Luci Bomb or two!
