Congratulations to Cole Waites! To say that Waites’ rise through the system was rapid is an insult to fast things! The first time I saw Waites was an appearance in the Arizona Rookie League after his 2021 knee surgery.
He had, at that point in time, NEVER APPEARED at a level higher than the complex league. This video is from exactly 13 months and six days ago. In that time, he climbed from the ACL to the major leagues. His longest stay at any one level was the 18 games and 71 days that he spent in Richmond this summer. Mr. Waites, 18th round pick from a DII school in Western Alabama, blazed through the minors with the same sort of speed and power that his fastball blazes towards home plate. This dude is happening!
And with that….let’s get to the lines because we have some things to discuss!
