Yes, I told you that There R Giants was going to be dark today, but after all of the Giants’ wheeling and dealing yesterday, Roger, from his faraway perch, suggested “suppose if you’re feeling like it, you could send out a here’s all the new Giants post tomorrow.” So, what am I to do? So, we’ll go over everything to the best of my ability, which pales considerably to the best of Roger’s ability. I’ll also cover yesterday’s DSL contests in this post as well.

Overall, the Giants made five trade deadline deals, dealing six players off the major league roster and one minor leaguer, and received eight players in return. Here are the deals:

1) Traded RHP Tyler Mahle to the Atlanta Braves for RHP Anthony Molina (a 40-man roster player), optioned to the River Cats;

2) Traded 2B Luis Arraez and RHP Caleb Kilian to the Philadelphia Phillies for RHP Ramon Marquez and RHP Marty Gair, both assigned to the Emeralds;

3) Traded LHP Robbie Ray to the San Diego Padres for RHP Miguel Mendez, assigned to the Emeralds, and SS Joniel Hernandez, assigned to the DSL Giants Black;

4) Traded OF Heliot Ramos to the New York Yankees for LHP Henry Lalane and INF Kaeden Kent, both assigned to the Emeralds;

5) Traded LHP Erik Miller and Emeralds’ OF Carlos Gutierrez to the Boston Red Sox for INF Marcelo Mayer, who was on the Red Sox’s major league IL.
