As I say, the All-Star Break is a great time to pause and reflect, and, in the prospect game, reflecting means ranking, or, re-ranking as the case may be. Now I don’t put quite as much work and industry conversation and cogitation into my mid-season rankings as the larger ones I produce in the winter, so this really is a snapshot in time (if only Substack would get that new “post self-destruct” feature I’ve been asking for so nobody could find this again later). And, I’ll admit, that can make it a little reactive, maybe even over-reactive. But I am trying my best to talk about all of these guys with scouts in my circle all of the time, and the season does provide a certain level of facts on the ground for me to work with.
So let’s take a look at how those facts on the ground have impacted this observer at the least. We know that there will a new name at the top, as Kyle Harrison has left the realm of prospect rankings for ever. But who will that new name be?
