Ah baseball…so nice to have you back!

Now I have to be honest, despite that jolt of an opening, there wasn’t actually a whole lot of offense this weekend — nor, in fact, a ton of winning or high achievement, in general. So, at the risk being accused of a bait and switch, today’s post will be a little less performance-driven than my normal Monday morning wrap. Instead, I thought, given the large number of bodies in motion the past few days, I’d use today’s post to help you re-set for the second half.

Rotations have been shaken up everywhere, lineups are re-forming. Today seems like a good day to take stock of who exactly is where and what exactly all of the motion means. We’ll reset the rotation and lineup situations at all of the top affiliates, and ID the players who should command our attention over the final two months at each of the minor league teams. Also, since I know we all have Trade Deadline Fever, at each level I’ll ID at least one player whom I’ve gotten positive comments about this year from scouts who cover the Giants’ system for other organizations.

And, of course, I’m sure we’ll find our way to a highlight or two along the way…

HITTER of the WEEKEND: Guillermo Williamson (AGB),4 for 7,2 HR (8), 6 RBI, 3 BB
PITCHER of the WEEKEND: Mason Black (Sac),
5.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 4 BB, 8 K, 1 HB

As we’ll see in just a second, Mason Black wasted no time fitting into his new surroundings….how did some of the other debuts go? We’ll explore after the jump!
