Fans of “get ‘em on, get ‘em over, get ‘em in” are not going to find much solace in today’s post. But if you like dingers, you’ve come to the right place! Collectively, in the 3+ domestic games last night, 17 of 24 total runs came by way of the bomb — toss in Jonah Cox’s Little League version of the home run, and you’ve got yourself a 75% run-scoring dinger rate! Goodness!

On an almost universally hot — and pretty much everywhere east of the Rockies downright sultry — first night of July, there was no taste for small ball and nuance. Bombast and bombs were the way to get things done on this summer night!
