Despite a record 21 home runs so far this year, Roby is focused on improving

Players? They like process! When I asked Sean Roby what his reaction was to breaking the Richmond Flying Squirrels’ franchise records for home runs in a season — and breaking it so quickly that his record-setting trot around the bases took place with two and half months left on the calendar — Roby thanked me for my congratulations, but demurred: “honestly, I don’t think we care that much. It’s cool! But I’m not too big on it. I don’t let it get to me.”
