Who's got what it takes to succeed?

Tools play at the top level. This has always been my mantra as a prospect watcher. You must have baseball skills to perform in this extremely skills-based game, and a solid ability to make bat meet ball will get you to the top even without stand out physical elements that fill up a scouting card.

But at the major league level, where the speed of the game is ridiculously fast and the demands of the long summer can wear down the strongest soul, bringing a fully stocked toolbox certainly is a big help! Plus, big speed, big arms, dazzling gloves….they’re fun to watch. They put the “play” in PLAY BALL!

So let’s end our winter of depth charts and rankings with a simple question of “Who’s Best?” applied liberally across the building blocks of the game. From power bats to power arms, we’ll try to nail down the very best of the best that the Giants’ farm has to offer.
