Congrats to the new All Star one more time!
A few weeks ago, I put out a call for potential names for this Frankenstein entry of DSL games, stats and transactions. The best (indeed, the only) one that I received was the “Tuesday Post-pourri.” So let it be written, so let it be done! Tuesday Post-Pourri it is.
The weekly leaders board is, I’ll admit it, a somewhat tedious process for me. But I know that some subscribers really enjoy it, and I think it has value to place the work being done by our prospects within their league environments (even if finding the right balance for pitching leaders is a near impossible task). Today, the value that I’m taking away from these leader boards is that they’re shrinking, and fewer and fewer of the players on the Giants’ farm are making any mark at all in their leagues. To some degree, that’s a mark of the Giants’ aggressive promotions this year. But to another way that is clear and obvious, it’s a sign that there really aren’t that many outstanding performances going on in 2024. I don’t know that I’d call that “valuable” knowledge, but it does seem important! The guys who are trending upwards this year (including the one whose picture adorns this post) make for a pretty short list, unfortunately.
HITTER of the DAY: Diego Villegas (DSLB), 2 for 3, HR (2), 2b, 1 R, 4 RBI, 2 BB, 1 K
PITCHER of the DAY: Marlin Franco (DSLB), 5.0 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 6 K, 1 HR
Very short Minor Lines today, and then the usual Post-pourri (see! good!)
