The results weren’t quite what he was hoping for: 2.2 innings pitched, 4 hits, 7 runs. Some sloppy defense hadn’t helped him much, still he’d contributed plenty to the underwhelming line, issuing three free passes and surrendering a home run. But the linescore wasn’t the most important aspect of the day for Trevor McDonald. It was a merely a small irritant on an otherwise momentous milestone in his career. After three long summers, McDonald had finally escaped the Scottsdale complex, setting up a big year for the right-hander in the coming season.
(Trevor, if you can make Zac Veen look silly, you should be able to do alright with the rest of the league!)
