Let me turn the way back machine to…uh…yesterday’s post!

By the way, don’t be surprised to see some more players join the Richmond roster to help buttress them for a post-season run in the next week or so. I’m not sure that Kyle Haines is done trying to perfect this roster just yet.

I don’t like to pat myself on the back too much around here, but boy, did I nail that one! Yesterday afternoon came the word that many MANY people have been waiting for lately:

Vaun Brown is making his second level jump of the year, and one I think we’ve all been intently waiting for. And not just that! Brown left a vacuum in Eugene that was immediately filled by yet another center fielder with power and speed:

There aren’t many Giants’ players who have improved their prospect profile this year as much as Brown and Grant McCray have, so seeing them moved up on the same day is especially thrilling!

The pair has combined for 104 extra-base hits and 79 stolen bases so far this year. Getting to watch them test their skills at the next level gives a little lift of excitement and anticipation to the season’s closing weeks — and we know that both are assured of seeing some post-season action as well. Pretty danged cool!

The additional word that powerful outfielder Jared Dupere had been pushed up to Eugene as well somewhat oddly left Eugene with five listed active outfielders and San Jose with just one! (though Victor Bericoto, listed as a 1b has seen plenty of action out there). That’s an imbalance that begs for some redress, so I assume we’ll see more bodies in motion coming up from the Arizona complex in the days to come.

Speaking of which, I’m now seven graphs into today’s post and I haven’t even mentioned that the org tasted a 2022 vintage of post-season success last night. On to the finals! Let’s get after it.

HITTER of the Night: Dilan Rosario (AGIB), 3 for 4, HR (1), 2b, 1 Run, 3 RBI
PITCHER of the Night: Seth Lonsway (SJ),
5.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 B, 10 K

Hope everybody saw my profile on Eric Silva that came out yesterday afternoon!

Eric Silva is Looking Like Gold in Debut Season
“I’d be lying to say I wasn’t tired,” Eric Silva said by phone last week. The 19-year-old 4th round pick of the Giants in 2021 has been navigating the long haul of his first professional season. “You know, playing over 100 games this season. I’ve never done that once in my life.” Youth leagues, summer ball, travel ball, high school ball — all have occupied Silva’s time and energy for virtually his entire life, but none of that compares to the relentless daily working pace of professional ball. “I’ve never gone every week playing every day for six months. So I’ve been doing my best to take care of my body and help progress and do whatever I can to stay on the field and be there for my team…
