Talk about your moments to dream on! The just-barely-present and the future-future crossed paths as a BP group of Marco Luciano, Casey Schmitt, Brandon Crawford, and Blake Sabol were joined by this year’s 1st round pick, Bryce Eldridge, in one of the biggest collections of pure raw power that the park has seen in many a year. It was a real moment of prospect kismet, as the annual “bring the 1st rounder to Oracle” night coincided with the organization’s bold decision to call up the most prominent and highly regarded hitting prospect that the team has developed since Buster Posey.
For both Eldridge and Luciano, the night was a dream come true — though different parts of the dream for each.
Eldridge is headed today back down to Scottsdale, where he is scheduled to make his official professional debut for ACL Giants Orange tonight. The excitement just doesn’t end!
HITTER of the NIGHT: Carter Williams (Eug), 2 for 4, 2 HR (8), 3 R, 2 RBI
PITCHER of the NIGHT: Sean Hjelle (Sac) 6.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 3 K
