Players generally dislike Education Day starts, which disrupt their finely honed routine. And this morning, I’m of the same mind, personally. Had I not been rushing around trying to get to the a.m. start yesterday, I would have picked up two critical corrections before sending out the daily Minor Lines. As it was, I found both within five minutes of hitting “publish.” Sorry about that, folks!
So, we start with two critical corrections from what I told you yesterday:
Chris Welsh corrected his tweet regarding Bryce Eldridge. After initially saying that Eldridge had said he hoped to be in Triple-A within a week or so, Welsh put out a second tweet, amending that statement:
Richmond is where I have always thought Eldridge would begin, so that makes more sense to me;While there was no Bo Davidson news prior to Tuesday’s game, yesterday morning the transaction appeared showing the seemingly inevitable news: Davidson to the IL. (As an aside, I know I said in this week’s Mailbag that you can’t always trust the MiLB.com website when it comes to transactions, but sadly, the Giants’ two A-ball clubs don’t put out Transaction releases to the media generally, so the website is what we have to go on). Now the wait begins to see if James Tibbs III is going to join him there.
I didn’t see this yesterday, but just to complete our wrap up of items from yesterday, Keaton Winn, as feared, also headed to the IL. Another tough break for a good guy who has already overcome a lot.
Perhaps it’s not too surprising, with so many reduced lineups around the farm, the system isn’t having a great week from a Wins perspective (though, as someone said to me yesterday, so long as the big club is winning, then the system is doing fine, which is certainly true enough). The two A-ball clubs combined for five hits. They also combined for five errors, and, as you might imagine, that did not end up working so well either.
Yep, it’s an Everybody Loses sort of morning. Except the big club — and, as caveats go, that’s a pretty positive one! Winning four out of six (with one to go) in New York and Philly definitely means you’re doing something right!

It’s time to head to the morning Lines. Let’s get up for it!
