Wade Meckler became the first player since, I believe, Buster Posey, back in 2009, to make the majors by the end of his first full season as a pro (2008 2nd round pick Conor Gillaspie had made it to the majors that very summer as a handshake deal to work around some Commissioner’s Office restrictions on bonus structures).
