So while my Mets fan friends are giving the Giants virtual backslaps for taking care of the Braves last night I am remaining magnanimous by not mentioning Seymour's big win last night and the fact that Zwack is lined up for a Game 3 start. Poor Darin Ruf - 7 for 51 as a Met with a 7 OPS+. Yikes.

Any word on Vaun Brown? Is he shut down for the season?

There's never any word on injured guys!

It clearly looked like it was the Vancouvers that got off the bus all bleary-eyed. Works for me!

What's the skinny on the new guy Damon Dues?

Any hope we see Vaun Brown in the playoffs? Highest batting average in the minors is pretty damn impressive.

Dues had a solid career at Wright State. Walks a ton, rarely strikes out. Not much pop, definitely a slap and dash guy. Very interesting that Eugene had him in LF last night. When SJ was down to 1 OF on roster they put him in LF for a couple of days and it was a real circus of midjudged fly balls.

as for Brown. No idea. Didn't see him on the road trip at all. I'll be checking carefully today to see if he's taking part in any drills. If he's not out there -- I'd guess he's out

This is interesting. Seems like the Giants are changing their priorities a bit for what they want in an outfielder with new guys Meckler, Tristan Peters, Dues and maybe others. Hits over power. Or maybe it's just a natural balancing of skill players.

Maybe but Dues isn’t an OF, even if he’s being forced into role right now bc if roster issues. He’s a MI
