This was great. I think you hit on all the points that are relevant to this season performance and what to consider for next year. I missed KROG!

I really enjoy your podcasts with Kerry. Hope to hear them more often. You do a great job with the monitors and I love the interviews with the minor leaguers.

Thanks for the podcast, Roger! FWIW it seems like Kerry is no longer posting to YouTube, most recent video from him was "Opening Day roster reaction"

Terrific conversation and analysis but doesn't the real problem lie above Farhan Zaidi? Nine years of Bobby Evans and Farhan Zaidi have given us .500 baseball. Isn't the real problem Greg /Charles Johnson, the Burns twins/Rob Dean and Larry Baer? Do they know what they want in baseball operations other than to not lose money by staying below the CBT/luxury tax?

I wonder the same thing. That said, every GM or President of Baseball Operations (maybe Dodgers and Yankees are outliers) has a certain amount of contraints set by owners that they have to work with. It's how they work within those constraints that separates the brilliant ones from the run of the mill. I'm not sure I'd say that Farhan Zaidi has worked wonders around the contraints of this owernship group. So far his teams, aside from 2021, have been run of the mill.

I'm with Jodi on this one, and certainly it's not like the Giants have some sort of Artie Moreno or Jerry Reinsdorf or John Fischer situation here. They aren't cheap, they don't insist on staying below the CBT threshold (they're over it this year and have been before). They may not go to the $300m area that the Mets, Yankees, and Dodgers like to visit, but those teams do have vastly more revenue resources than everybody else (the Dodgers annual attendance makes even the Yankees look like a Double-A operation). I will say that I do believe that their primary goal is to win and not just churn money (a Fisher or Neal Huntington specialty). It hasn't worked lately and that's on the baseball ops. You can't tell me that it's impossible to field a winning team with a $240m payroll
