In that video of Grant McCray's triple, the moment he is safe at third he makes a square in the air and touches his left wrist. What does this mean? Some secret code? Do the kids all understand this but us old guys are just baffled?
I think if you watch most of the clips of players getting hits, you'll see that they turn and make a gesture of some nature to the bench -- both in the major and minor leagues. They all have meanings within the group of hitters. I keep meaning to ask somebody who designs those and if everybody has their own. One of these days I'll get around to that.
