It’s July 2025 and Matos and Luciano have torn the cover off the ball in AAA. Ramos is again playing like an all star. All 3 are looking like they’re living up to their potential.

What’s your play? Who holds the most value in a trade?
Hi all! I don't know where to post this as i just wanted to share with the There R Giants readers that i was at the GIants-Angels game in Tempe yesterday. It was a very forgettable game (Mason Black didn't have it, Arty booted a hard grounder at second, only two hits until the ninth inning); but, two things that Roger's readers would be interested in, I think. One, Trent Harris relieved Black after he had let in three runs and had runners on second and third with only one out and got out of the jam (if you are wondering about Black's line, he came back in the second inning (one of those spring training things) and gave up one more run. And the big news is that one of the two hits was a Luciano homer, but if you just saw that he homered, I wanted to let you know that it hit the top of the batters eye in dead center behind the 420 mark. So maybe 450...460? It was a blast. So nice to see him show some of the power. (Sorry Rog is this is a misuse of the mailbag post!)
Bonus question: on a scale of 1 to 74-to-break-Bonds-single-season-record, how much are you hoping Eldridge gets assigned to Richmond so you get a few more live looks?
I'm sure you will touch on it in your Gonzalez write up and you don't need to include it separately in the mail bag, but I'm curious as this is your first time ranking a international prospect right after signing what that process was like. Did you you consider leaving him off to stick with your past precedent or was he always going to be on? Did you think about Barreto or Marcares for the 50? And going forward with the other top of the market names the giants are attached too in the next couple years, how do you think you are going to handle ranking new signings?
Listening to your most recent podcast with Kerry, you guys discussed the backup catcher position and lack of depth across the field. Has there been any discussion about Brett Auerbach? He has a history of catching but also really positionally versatile, and did well in AAA last year. He’s not going to hold anyone up in any one position, but can spell anyone for a break in almost any spot. Seems like a great utility guy/Swiss army knife for any team to have.
Do you think having a Lefty to get out Lefty hitters is less of an issue now with the Three Batter Minimum? Seems pitchers now work harder to develop their pitches to get batters out on both sides anyway.
Can you clarify the roster sizes for each minor league level, and how strict the leagues are with them? Sacramento seems to have twice as many pitchers than the roster size should allow, and I’m really curious how it’ll all shake out. I’m sure injuries and some releases will happen, but I enjoy creating “way too early” minor league rosters, and yours in November/December really helped put mine together, so thank you for those! If the season started tomorrow and all these arms (and the ML ones) are healthy, and you had to choose 15 pitchers to send to Sacramento, who are you choosing? This gave me fits!
If the MLB were to implement a salary cap (and hopefully salary floor) wouldn’t it also make sense to implement a cap on scouting and development spending?
There have been several new scouting hires by the Giants. Are those open positions being filled up or a staff increase? Do you know any of the new guys? And are you able to sense any change in scouting philosophy just by that?
Sorry for the multiple questions, please answer in any way you see fit. Just hoping to pick your brain a bit
Its tough to tell at camp probably, but does it seem like the Giants have changed their philosophy on building pitchers up slowly? Also do you see any signs of the batter training techniques that the Red Sox and the Orioles adopted like weighted bats for bat speed training?
What are your travel plans to Scottsdale this year? Who are you most excited to see? Also, can you please kindly ask the Giants to post their daily MILB spring lineups like other teams.
What are we to make of Tom Murphy's injury and how do you see this impacting the Giants catching roster? I think this as a potentially bigger deal potentially given Bailey's tiredness during the second half of seasons.

Any word on the spring breakout game? Was so exited for it to be on TV last year just to be cancelled due to rain.
According to Melvin, Harrison is “ behind a week”. And there’s been a strange silence as to the why. Should we be concerned?
They said that he got sick right before camp

How many people outside the Giants organization know the system as well as you? How many inside? Don’t be modest!
Which player not often talked about are you most excited to see retraining?
David can you clarify what the end of that question means? "Retraining?"
