So far in the Top 50:
#50-46 (Lisbel Diaz, Hayden Wynja, Alix Hernandez, Carson Ragsdale, Ben Madison)
#45-41 (Jose Cruz, Tyler Myrick, Eric Silva, Nick Zwack, Josh Bostick)
#40-36 (William Kempner, R.J. Dabovich, Scott Bandura, Cole Foster, Nick Avila)
#35-31 (Jairo Pomares, Manuel Mercedes, Ryan Murphy, Erik Miller, Spencer Miles)
#26-30 (Kai-Wei Teng, Cole Waites, Randy Rodriguez, Maui Ahuna, Liam Simon)
And now, the fun begins! Yes, the bats have finally arrived. So far, in our series, our chunks of prospects have been notably shy on the bats. The five editions of the Top 50 series thus far have included the following amounts of position players:
1
0
2
1
1
Over the course of 25 players, that’s not exactly a plethora of bats bursting forth!
But today, we have — for the first time — more hitters than pitchers. Even better, it’s the start of a run, as each of this week’s three posts will include a three hitter/two pitcher mix. The bats have awoken, indeed!
And that’s not the only fun thing about today’s post. This is also going to be the youngest group of players we’ll look at in any of these five-player combo posts. Two of today’s players turned 21 in the fall — and they’re the old-timers of today’s group. Two others turned 20 this offseason! The only place in this year’s rankings where we would find a younger collective group is at the very top, where the teenagers start to show up. But once I break into the top 10, every player gets their own personal post. So today’s collection has more room to grow than any of our other five-player sets.
Put it all together and this is the post for those of you who love your young hitters!
