I am surprised to learn that Michael Holmes lives not just outside of the bay area, but all the way in the east coast. Wonder if he moved there after COVID, or maybe even before that?
I believe he’s always lived in North Carolina, all during the years he worked for the A’s as well. North Carolina is a pretty great place for a Scouting Director to be based actually as there’s a real hotbed of activity not only college and HS based, but also the Team USA Hq. Btw, John Barr who was the teams previous Scouting Director for about a decade (and still works for the Giants) also lived on the east coast. Scouts live out of a suitcase anyway so it doesn’t much matter where their home base is
