Ah, Tito Fuentes! He was “my” second baseman. I thoroughly enjoyed his unorthodox batting stance, and his obvious love of the game. I had Hal Lanier’s baseball card as a younger kid, but Tito captured my imagination more.

Thanks for the stories about Mr. Lane and Mr. Rex - I had never heard of them. Although my impending marriage may have distracted me, but even so I had already moved out of state and I was still a couple of years away from discovering Baseball America. It was a veritable information wasteland in those days.
