“If he was 6'2”, everyone on the internet would be talking about what a Dude he is.” So said a scout covering the Low A West to me this year, and it’s a line that’s stuck with me all year long. The Giants had some massive break-through seasons in 2021. Some from famous and highly anticipated prospects like Luis Matos, some popping up from unheralded draft positions like Ryan Murphy. But nobody came from as far off-stage and stamped his presence as boldly on the 2021 season as the undrafted, under-sized former Alabama catcher Brett Auerbach did. And now the former Alabama catcher is looking like the ideal prototype for a Farhan Zaidi-constructed team.

2021 was a hell of a ride for this kid!
