As I said on Monday, it’s time to really dig in on guys (while at the same time try to stop the wildly mushrooming length of these Top 50 posts), so from here on to the top, we’re running a one player per post ratio.
Except….hang on! How did I come up with the great idea of starting my “one a days” with a player whose entire résumé adds up to a giant ¯\_(ツ)_/¯? Yep, we’re hitting the top of these rankings with The Great Unknown. An incredible athlete — in many different venues — a giant of a man, an intriguing two-way player, and a fascinating 1st round gamble: Reggie Crawford is my #10 prospect in the system.
But what can we find to say about a pitcher who threw a grand total of 8 innings in his college career (plus 8.1 more very important summer league innings, and a crucial stint with Team USA)? Well, for starters, dude hits tanks!
