Nobody made as big a jump on this year’s Top 50 as Vaun Brown, who quite literally came from out of (San Jose’s) left field. Brown was not only entirely absent from last year’s Top 50, he went completely unmentioned in the various “who did I miss?” or “who might jump on next year?” portions of last year’s Top 50 recap.
From totally unmentioned to There R Giants’ organizational Player of the Year is quite a feat! And now, Brown sits — possibly still underrated — in the uppermost portion of this year’s rankings. He heads into a year of great expectations, still with much to prove, and questions to answer, but also with possibilities and opportunities that could lie ahead of him. All of which makes Brown one of the most fascinating figures in the system right now — and just maybe, one of the most important!
